The mission of the Eisenhower Addiction Recovery Center (ARC) Ann Arbor is to assist individuals over the age of 18 in reducing the harmful effects of substance use dependency. We offer an innovative approach to treatment using empirically based therapies to help with:

  • Addiction: Chemical and Behavioral
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Pain management
  • Dual diagnosis
  • Individual health concerns
  • Anger management
  • Trauma
  • Relapse prevention
  • Substance abuse

We also offer vocational and occupational services to assist individuals in managing life’s day to day demands. Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides structure and accountability, while encouraging clients to integrate their treatment into their person, home and work life. Our program typically spans 12 weeks and patients attend 12 hours of therapy each week. Groups run 3 days a week for 4 hours. Program participants attend a two-hour Psychoeducational Group each day of attendance as part of their core treatment. Eisenhower ARC also offers pain management, skills development, anger management, individual psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), vocational services, occupational therapy, and enhancement treatments such as yoga, and psychiatric referral services dependent on need.

Two hour psychoeducational Groups, held every day of attendance, are led by licensed clinicians. Topics to be presented on a rotating basis include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Conducting self assessment, setting goals, and self monitoring progress
  • Overcoming common barriers to treatment
  • Understanding motivation and committing to treatment
  • Learning about biopsychosocial disease and recovery processes
  • Understanding the effect of specific drugs and alcohol on the brain and body
  • Knowing the stages of recovery
  • Understanding craving an and urges, learning to extinguish thoughts about substance use and coping with cravings
  • Handling shame, guilt, depression, and anxiety
  • Relapse prevention and after care
  • Substance Abuse including ALcohol, opioids, cannabis, amphetamines, cocaine, etc
